Stan, Sara and the team would like to welcome you to our picturesque yard. Stan started out in his racing career as a flat jockey, moving on to ride over the fences before he decided to turn his hand to training. Since moving to Berkeley House Stables in 2008 we have upgraded and improved the facilities. Training big winners with the likes of Total Gallery, Lady Darshaan, Traffic Guard, Dubai Dynamo, Impeller, Azarole and Mydante. Not afraid to travel internationally with his horses, he has had runners in the USA, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and Dubai where he was leading European trainer in the 2007 winter season.
There are a few nice horses in the yard, including an old timer Uther Pendragon who is now 8 years old. In December last year he managed to win THREE RACES IN A WEEK! Raintown a whizz on the all weather also won three on the go in November and December last year. We do have what could be the yard super star at the moment; The Wizard of Eye, he is already a bit of a globetrotter being group placed in France, running in the German 2000 Guineas, The Saudi Derby and closer to home the UK 2000 Guineas. He won a listed race at Kempton at the back end of the year and has Group entries so we are hoping to win a Group race with him this year. He is a rarity in flat racing standing at 17.3hh, a beautiful son of Havana Gold he is enchanting to the eye with lots of ability.
With a few promising horses in this year, we look forward to the coming season with great excitement. We currently have 30 horses in training, we use the Jockey Club Estates Gallops which have fantastic facilities on offer for both jump horses and flat. On the yard we have turn out pens, a lunge pit and horsewalker. Stabling in in our historic yard with a mix of old style traditional stables and also a modern American barn.
