Overview
After working as assistant trainer at racing yards across the country and in France, Tom returned to his family home near Inkberrow in the Midlands, to launch his solo career at Middle Bouts Farm, which nestles in the rustic heart of the Worcestershire countryside.
Tom’s CV includes spells working as assistant trainer to Francois Doumen, John Quinn, Peter Beaumont and Henry Daly. Also a former point-to-point rider, Tom has dealt with top horses including Grade 1 staying hurdler Mighty Man, multiple Cheltenham Festival winner Baracouda and Royal Ascot winner Pevensey.
Tom has been a full-time racehorse trainer since 2012, and during that time has recorded many successes included Listed success with Kauto RIko. Last season he had a 25% strike rate over fences which was gained through hard work with horses which were often cast-offs from other yards and breeders or untried younger horses. He has gained a reputation for being able to place his horses to win exceptionally well. The yard offers a calm and welcoming environment for horses & visitors.
Tom is aided and supported in his business by his wife Laura and their young daughter Poppy, as well as a dedicated group of stable staff, work riders and freelance jockeys including Brian Hughes, Sean Bowen and Gavin Sheehan.
