A yard specialising in the training of National Hunt racehorses, Set in the heart of the Blackmore Vale and surrounded by idyllic countryside. Tizzard Racing is a long established, family run set up that has enjoyed huge success over the years.

Grade One Winning Trainer – Joe enjoyed a very successful jockey career for 18 years before retiring from the saddle in 2014. His early years saw him achieve champion conditional when teaming up with Paul Nicholls in the 1998/99 season, after which he remained stable jockey before basing himself back at home to ride for his father. Having amassed 700 winners Joe retired as jockey to focus on assisting Colin with the day to day training.

Joe now spearheads the operation at Spurles Stables and has enjoyed a successful time producing multiple graded winners, and continuing to break the seasonal million pound milestone in prize money since starting his career as trainer. Joe is supported by his wife, Rachel, alongside a professional team of dedicated staff that continue to work hard and have great passion for the horses and racing alike.
