Adlestrop Stables is in a beautiful location, just off the A436 between Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton.

What to expect

We very much look forward to welcoming visitors to come and view our horses at exercise on the gallops, listen to informative talks and demonstrations and meet the horses in their stables. As National Racehorse Week falls within the school holidays once again this year – we would like to encourage as many young people as possible to come along and see behind the scenes of our racing yard to witness close up all the love and care that goes into training a racehorse and the opportunities there are to have a rewarding and passionate career in the racing industry. Former jockey Ollie McPhail from ‘Racing To School’ will be in attendance with his horse simulators where you can try your hand on the mechanical horses and wear real jockeys' silks too. This will be a morning to remember and will hopefully ignite an interest in the sport for life. The itinerary of the morning will be: •8.45am – Meet at Adlestrop Village Hall for welcome and refreshments. •9.15am – Walk to the gallops (about half a mile) to watch the horses at exercise. (Lift available for those who are not able to walk), followed by ridden demonstrations in the outdoor school. •From 10.30am – Have a go on the racehorse simulators, learn about careers in racing and enjoy informative demonstrations and presentations from equine professionals on the care given to racehorses throughout their lives. •11am – Stables open with the opportunity to meet our horses and all who care for them. •12pm – Close
