Overview
Spiteri Retraining is based in the beautiful village of Buelah, West Wales, just five miles from the coast. Over the past 20 years, the team has retrained more than 900 racehorses, helping them go on to enjoy fulfilling second careers across a wide range of disciplines.
This year’s visit will take a slightly different format, with guests meeting at Poppit Sands to see racehorses enjoying a gallop on the beach.
Please note, this will not be a traditional yard open day.
Instead, visitors will have a unique opportunity to get up close to the horses as they school in an open environment, enjoy a swim, and have a good blast along the shoreline.
Once the horses have finished work, the group will return to the lorry for a Q&A, where Spiteri Retraining will discuss the horses’ exercise routine and retraining process in more detail.
This event is tide dependent, but the aim is to be on the beach for 6.45am. Any changes will be communicated in due course.
